We get asked this a lot: can I play if I don’t have a deck yet? Now you can.

The latest update adds Deckless mode. When you start a game you choose how you want to play — scan your Power Up cards like always, or tap “Play Deckless” and play straight from your screen.

Instead of a Battlefield card, you scan a $1 bill to set up your arena on the table. Then you pick your power ups from the full set right on your phone, choose your tank, and drag it onto the battlefield to deploy exactly where you want.

If you have your cards, nothing changes at all — scan them the way you always have. And deckless players and card players can battle each other in the same match, so nobody gets left out.

We built this for the friend who wants to try a battle before buying a deck, and for the times someone leaves their cards at home. The cards are still the heart of the game. This just means a battle can start anywhere.
